Specifications
Jumper must be set to "master" mode for all 3.5" & 5.25" drives (except 2.5" notebook drive)
A diagram of the jumper can usually be found on the manufacture's product label
Plug in all necessary cable and adapter before turning on power
Once the drive powers up, then plug in the USB cable
Hard drive with existing data should be recognize immediately
New hard drive must be formatted and partitioned
Format new drive under XP: Go to Control Panel > Computer Management > Disc Management - Under "Disc 1", Right Click and Initialize. After initializing, Right Click and Format and format wizard will appear. Please follow the wizard instruction to format drive.
